Ajman Night Markets: Where to Shop After Sunset

Ajman’s evening shopping is spread across traditional souqs, the Fish Market and late-opening malls. For a traditional market atmosphere, visit Souq Saleh and the nearby Gold Souq. For a livelier evening stop, Ajman Fish Market has an official evening session and a daily auction. Ajman also hosts temporary market events, but their dates change, so check the event calendar before planning around one.

Where to shop in Ajman in the evening

Souq Saleh: traditional clothes, textiles and gifts

Souq Saleh is a useful first stop if you want a traditional market setting. Its small shops sell clothing, textiles, pashminas, souvenirs and regional curios, and the souq is known for tailoring. Ajman Tourism describes its palm-frond roof, timber beams and coral-stone floor, and says the area becomes livelier in the evening. Bargaining is common.

The souq sits on Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street in the Nakheel neighbourhood, directly opposite Ajman Museum and within walking distance of the Corniche. Ajman Tourism does not publish one set of closing hours for all the shops, so check the hours of any tailor or store you plan to visit.

Gold Souq: jewellery and custom designs

The Gold Souq is close to Souq Saleh, making it easy to visit both during the same outing. Shops sell gold and silver jewellery in a range of styles, with custom-made pieces also available. Gold is priced by weight using international rates; the workmanship charge is negotiable. Ask for the item’s weight and a separate breakdown of the making charge before deciding.

Ajman Tourism does not provide one market-wide closing time for the Gold Souq. Since individual jewellers may keep different hours, check with the shop before setting out, especially if you plan to arrive late.

Ajman Fish Market: seafood and a 6 pm auction

Ajman Fish Market is the most distinctive choice for an evening market visit. You can browse fresh fish and seafood, speak with fishmongers and watch the auction, which Ajman Tourism lists for 6:00 pm each evening. Some stalls offer to fillet, season and grill fish; ask what is available and whether preparation carries an extra charge. Prices depend on the seafood and seller, and haggling is expected.

The market is on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street in the Al Rashidiya area, near the creek. Ajman Tourism warns that parking can be difficult, so allow time to find a space.

City Centre Ajman: late indoor shopping

If you prefer air-conditioned shops, restaurants and entertainment, City Centre Ajman is a practical evening option. It is in Al Jurf, on Al Ittihad Street, and the mall’s official visitor page lists its hours as 10:00 am to 10:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 am to midnight from Friday to Sunday. Check the mall’s current visitor information before your trip, as hours can change for holidays or special events.

Are there seasonal night markets in Ajman?

Ajman also holds temporary market events, including pop-ups around Ramadan. These should be treated as dated events rather than permanent night markets. For example, AjmanDED announced Dakakeen Ajman 2026 at Musherif Souq from 20 February to 22 March, with daily hours listed as 5:00 pm to 2:00 am. Those dates have passed, and a future edition should not be assumed. Check Ajman’s official event listings for current dates and venue details. ‏

How to plan your evening

For a walkable heritage-focused visit, group Souq Saleh and the Gold Souq together. Souq Saleh is opposite Ajman Museum and near the Corniche, while the Gold Souq is nearby. Ajman Fish Market is a separate stop, so plan transport between the areas rather than assuming you can cover everything on foot.

If the auction is your main reason for visiting the Fish Market, arrive before 6:00 pm. For City Centre Ajman, confirm the day’s closing time and leave enough time for shopping before the mall closes.

These are shopping venues rather than ticketed attractions; the sources reviewed do not list general admission prices for the souqs or mall. Plan to pay for purchases and any optional food or preparation services. Prices are in UAE dirhams (AED), and market prices can vary by seller, product and season.

When is the best time to visit?

Ajman Tourism describes November to March as the most pleasant period for outdoor activities and alfresco evenings. June to September is hot and humid, so an indoor mall may be more comfortable during those months. Souq hours and event schedules can change, so check them close to your visit.
